A Day Of Meditation and Prayer For Peace
Herbst Pavilion at Fort Mason, San Francisco California

Living Compasssion, a non-profit group of Buddhist Monks contacted Debra Amerson with a vision of transforming San Francisco's Herbst Pavilion at Fort Mason into a warm, inviting space to host a large public and private weekend  event.

After several initial phone conversations and a dinner meeting, Debra negotiated with a valued plant supplier on behalf of the non-profit and secured a to donation of 350+ assorted plants and trees over a 48 hour period. Debra then coordinated the pick-up, transport and installation and return all of the plants so that our supplier would not have to pay their staff to re-stock the plants.

Debra utilized 30+ monks to share the labor loading the plants into 3 large rental trucks, drove to San Francisco and  led the designing and staging of the 350 plants inside Herbst Pavilion.

Debra walked her country property and cut fresh branches of fragrant California Bay, Eucalyptus and Manzinita, placing the beautiful cut greenery throughout the pavillion.  She also draped colorful ethnic fabrics over each of the 350 potted plants and trees.  The finishing touch was beautiful vases with fresh cut flowers adorning dining tables. The event was a big success.

Sunday night after the guest left, Debra and her assistant removed the floral arrangements and confirmed earlier plans to meet the truck driving monks the next morning at the Marin nursery to return the 350 plants.

A smooth, successful project for everyone involved.

"Your willingness to assist us in all the ways you did was a true gift. The plants you brought into the Herbst Pavilion and your artistic sense made the transformation of the space into a beautiful sanctuary possible.
As you know, the event was an inspiring success and it would not have been possible without your contribution."

In Loving kindness,
